Hm, I'm not so sure this is a good idea.  The reference implemenation
contains many spurious bugs (which is probably one of the reasons why
Richard Kelsey hasn't included a package definition).  I've been
bugging the author about this for months (probably years now), but, so
far, no dice.  FWIW, rumor has it that Guile has better code.
