I am not so sure about that.
A user of free/opensource software should be willing to help the
developpers. It would be stranged if anyone disagreed. Maybe giving up
some privacy should even be considered mandatory, since Free Software is
community software. The authors gave more than their due to the
community, so users should not make a fuss about disclosing their email
addresses.
I might however, for the sake of correctness, want to put a short notice
at the end of the README file, combined with an appeal for cooperation.
