true.  there are some others that are interesting as well.  but i
don't think anything like this is appropriate for an interactive scsh
syntax.  it's important that there be a smooth transition from
interactive to batch mode; two completely different syntaxes would be
a huge pain.

i believe that we only need an abbreviated syntax for one-liners, plus
a well defined way of escaping to the full/standard syntax.
