Hmm, not sure I know what you mean here. Do you mean that when 
--dest-dir is used I should include it in the path which I suggest to 
add to SCSH_LIB_DIRS? If that's what you mean, I'm not sure I agree. 
The thing is that when you use --dest-dir, the installation library 
does install the package there, but with the assumption that it will be 
moved to its final location (i.e. the one given by --prefix) before 
being used. (Most scsh packages will anyway be unusable if they are not 
moved, because of the absolute paths appearing in load.scm).
