Sorry to be bumping this in so late.  It's probably not by place but
anyway:

The ODBC stuff should not go into 0.5.3.  0.5.3 is a *minor* release,
at least by name.  It's not finished.  It causes build warnings.  The
documentation is not integrated with the main manual.  The interface
could probably stand some discussion, but that's a minor issue.  I'm
looking at the most descriptive directory listing in history:

odbc0.c
odbc0.scm
odbc1.c
odbc1.scm
odbc2.c
odbc2.scm
scsh-odbc.c

There's (AFAIK) no urgency putting it in.

If at all, it might go into 0.6.
